Buying a pair of shoes has always had supernatural effects - instantly transforming an outfit from above average to worthy of a repeat.

I grew up watching Cinderella's life revolve around a beautiful glass slipper. Then Carrie Bradshaw walks down Fifth Ave with a new pair of shoes every episode (are we excited for the reboot?!). Naturally, it’s not a surprise that my closet holds more shoes than clothes.

From high street to high end, I’ve wrapped up some of our favourite shoe brands hitting the pavement right now - so get ready to empty your wallets.

Affordable

Charles & Keith - With an expensive look, Charles & Keith will have you shocked at the prices. The Singaporean based fashion brand stock a great range of trend-based styles, along with timeless pieces at insanely good prices!
Price Range: $50 - $250.
Our Favourite Shoe: Textured Square Toe Mule, $83

Aere - Known for effortless styles, The Iconic’s own sustainable label, Aere, is made entirely of more sustainable fabrications. While you're picking up one of Aere’s linen dresses, don’t forget to add a pair of shoes too. And a big bonus? Being The Iconic’s in-house label, the brand is frequently included in seasonal sales!
Price Range: $100- $200
Our Favourite Shoe: Double Strap Leather Mule, $159

St Sana: I recently came across the brand on The Iconic! As the younger sister to Sol Sana, St. Sana is a curated minimal collection for the modern conscious shoe lover. The brand makes it easy to shop in-trend shapes whilst remaining environmentally conscious.
Price Range: $75 - $100
Our Favourite Shoe: Emberly Mule, $90

Dazie - Australian based fashion label Dazie is exclusive to The Iconic. The brand has a range of trend-driven styles at super affordable prices, you might have to stop me ordering 10! The best part is that the brand often is included in The Iconic’s sales!
Price Range: $35 - $115
Our Favourite Shoe: Tawny Heels $80

Mid-range

Tony Bianco - This Aussie label has taken the world by storm for their trend based shoes at affordable prices. Think Bottega-esque designs, dad sandals and as we come into winter: chunky boots.
Price Range: $80 - $400
Our Favourite Shoe: Lucille Croc Calf Boots, $389

Alohas - Designed in Barcelona and handcrafted in the Spanish city of Alicante, the brand is focused on sustainability, using a pre-order system to ensure there is little wastage during production.
Price Range: $130 - $500
Our Favourite Shoe: Grace Green Sandal

Alias Mae - As one of Australia’s leading shoe brands, it’s easy to see why. High quality and handmade they also tap into the latest shoe trends. Alias Mae is stocked online but also at Kiwi store Superette so you won’t have to wait for the courier!
Price Range: $130 - $450
Our Favourite Shoe: Rome Boots, $269.95

Nelson Made - The heels are crafted in a qualspec-certified factory in China, and the flats are crafted by the founder Jamie Nelson and her small team in Nelson. The brand uses chrome-free and recycled leathers, which have minimised environmental impacts. Just because a brand’s core values are environmental impact, doesn’t mean you can’t also wear cute shoes!
Price Range: $160 - $300
Our Favourite Shoe: Juliette Slide, $209

"It’s only right to have a shoe for every occasion. Style is like a sandwich: start with the most important element - the shoes!"

Sell a Kidney

Rebe Official - Dedicated to creating elevated wear for modern women, Rebe Official is like walking on clouds, literally. Carefully crafted in Italy, the brand is focused on refining the classics with a carefully curated range of high-quality shoes. As a New Zealand based, female-owned brand, Rebe is popping up in every stylish store across the country!
Price Range: $600 - $1295
Our Favourite Shoe: Bebe Boot in Python, $895

LOQ - Unconventional forms, proportions and materials are what brought the founders of LA-based LOQ together. Bringing California's relaxed lifestyle with the rich colours and texture of India, the brand redefines classics with a more modern twist.
Price Range: $278 - $900
Our Favourite Shoe: Descansa House Slides, $345

Golden Goose Deluxe - Luxe sneakerheads will understand, my mother, on the other hand, thinks spending $700 on a pair of sneakers makes me certified insane, especially one that looks worn. However, on the precedence of quality over quantity, if I could only ever buy one sneaker for both comfort and looks, it would probably be a Golden Goose.
Price Range: $700 - $900
Our Favorite Shoe: Golden Goose Black and Sequin, $799

Bottega Veneta - For my last pick, I thought I would really push the boat out, because why not! Bottega, or any designer brand for that matter, is a huge investment. Dropping 1k + on a pair of shoes should not be taken lightly so that’s why Bottega is my current designer recommendation - for comfort. Of all the luxury end shoes I own, my loved pair of birthday Bottegas are the most comfortable heels I own, and they look insanely cute!
Price Range: $1,000+
Our Favourite Shoe: Padded Sandal, $1,220.
