As a Korean gal, I can tell you right now that I have the best mascara recommendations for you- trust me on this one.

I understand that mascara can be an immensely personal thing. Something that I love might not work for you, and vice versa - especially if you are picky about your lashes. Because of this, I included a variety of formulas and brush shapes to recognise this fact.

I have tried a lot of mascaras, and writing this brought a lot of joy because it took me all the way back to high school, which is when I started wearing mascara. I hope I get to bring some joy to you too by helping you find your favourite mascara!

M.A.C In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash

The M.A.C In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash is not for the faint-hearted. The silicone brush is large and in charge and covered in short little barbs that will be sure to catch every lash. Unlike a lot of mascaras on the market, the In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash does not have any crazy spikes - so if you have sensitive eyes, this mascara might be worth checking out. Not to mention, this is a fibre-less mascara which makes it even more sensitive-eyes friendly.

Texture-wise, it does not have that crunchy effect, which will be good news to some. However, I find that soft mascaras don't hold a curl as well. On the other hand, if you love wearing falsies, this will be the perfect mascara to use because it will be easy to lay a lash over.

Because this isn't a stiff formula, you can layer a few coats on for a super feathery and voluminous lash look. A tremendous all-around mascara that won't irritate your eyes, smudge, or flake for the whole day!

Kevyn Aucoin Volume Mascara

The highly coveted Kevyn Aucoin Volume mascara is a favourite for many reasons. The natural bristle brush is nice and skinny, making application a breeze. Furthermore, the tube itself is uber thin, which means the bristles don't come out oversaturated with product. As a result, I find that this mascara is genuinely clump-free. So, if you're a natural lash gal/guy- this is the perfect mascara for you.

Although this is called a volume mascara, it is more lengthening than anything. However, it is a drier formula, so you can definitely build it up if you want to.

Now, as you may have heard, the Kevyn Aucoin Volume mascara is a latex-based tubing mascara. Meaning you will not experience any smudging, flaking, or sensitivities. Not to mention, it only takes warm water and a little friction to remove this mascara at the end of the night!

Peripera Ink Black Cara #02 Volume

If you cannot find a mascara capable of holding a curl for the life of you, look no further. The Peripera Ink Cara is jet black and keeps the curls of even the most stubborn lashes.

If you are looking for a budge-proof mascara that is jet-black and super lifting, this is the one. The formula is not too wet or dry, and it coats every lash with intense volume and pigment. If you love a clumpier look, like me, definitely give the Ink Cara a whirl.

Korean mascaras are generally really great at holding a curl, but this is my current go-to.

Side note: This one is super affordable!

Milk Makeup Rise Lifting + Lengthening Mascara

The Milk Makeup Rise Mascara is a newer one on the market, and I was interested in giving it a go after seeing it on Youtube. It is a vegan, cruelty-free, and clean formula that is paraben, sulphate, and fragrance-free. Full of antioxidants and peptides, this mascara claims to curl, lengthen, and volumize.

The Rise mascara sports a natural bristle brush that is slightly curved to fit the lash line perfectly. What I love about this mascara is how weightless it is even though it is super volumising. I was concerned about its wearability because the formula contains monoi oil, but surprisingly, it was long-wearing with minimal flaking. This is a current favourite!

Side note: the packaging is to die for.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara

Did anyone else love the Maybelline Falsies mascara growing up? If there is one thing Maybelline nails, it's mascara. Since then, Maybelline has come out with several mascara launches. The best of which is the Lash Sensational Sky High in waterproof for extra curl insurance.

Extremely volumizing and lengthening, this mascara genuinely made me gasp as I was applying it. The silicone bristle brush is not too big and not too skinny- it's just right. The formula is on the wetter side, but that doesn't mean that it isn't long-wearing.

I am also happy to announce that Sky High is a tubing mascara, making it an affordable option for trying this kind of formula.

P.S: New shade alert! ‘Cosmic Black’ is for those who love an extra black lash.
