If you’ve read my travel diaries before, you know that I am far from an ordinary tourist. I like to get down with locals and experience fun and different things.

I’m not content unless I’m getting 100% of my trip’s return on investment by sight seeing ALL day and partying ALL night.

I also have a knack for getting free drinks wherever I go so read until the end for some hot girl tips.

When my friends and I chose to visit Mexico for our year-end trip, Cabo San Lucas was at the top of my list for must visit places. Why? Well, Cabo seems to have it all. Luxury, beautiful beaches, adventure, and experiencing new cultures..

So, if you need some travel inspo any time soon, here are my top recommendations of what you have to do in Cabo.

Go to Tierra Sagrada with Cabo Adventures for an ATV ride through the Baja Desert

We booked a tour with a company called Cabo Adventures, which included a whole range of things from visiting an eco park where they create renewable resources and cultivate cocoa beans to make chocolate, to riding camels.

Although some of this is a tourist trap, I would recommend doing the ATV quad bike ride. You get to ride through the Baja Desert with super friendly staff who coach you through the whole thing. The drive was absolutely enthralling!

Do a traditional Mexican Buffet Lunch and Tequila Tasting

You’re in bloody Mexico. You have to try traditional meal options. Nothing peeves me off more than people who try get KFC in an incredible and diverse location!

We went to eat at so many local taqueria’s and street churro vendors but one thing that was such good value for money were the Mexican buffets.

The salsa is so fresh in Mexico and I became undeniably obsessed with ceviche after doing these buffets. They have so many options of meats, sauces, toppings and a build your own taco station.

In addition, most of these throw in tequila tastings meaning you’re slightly buzzed and enjoying an extremely satiating lunch!

Charter a Catamaran to see Cabo’s sites

Some of Cabo’s main sites like the Split Rock and Lover’s Beach are only accessible from a boat. Chartering a boat or a yacht is so much fun because you sail around all day with bottomless drinks (I’m talking 5-10 tequila sunrises and mimosas!), and they park up with an option for you to go for a swim, jump off the boat, snorkel or do whatever water activities you desire.

The best part is that you’re being boujee on a boat, but being doted on by such a caring crew. They served us bento boxes of fresh meals like ceviche, guacamole and tortillas etc.,.

Go Clubbing in the Marina

When I say Cabo knows how to party… boy, do I mean it. Cabo San Lucas has two massive clubs called Mandala and El Squid Roe located in the heart of the Marina which is the main tourist strip.

I absolutely loved El Squid Roe because the vibes were unprecedented. The closest thing I’ve seen to it was probably Motel Mexicola in Bali. It was vibrant, dynamic and full of people.

There’s a stage for you to get up on, which I obviously did because I’ve got main character energy and will never shy away from an opportunity to be front row and centre of attention. I was front and centre, twerking and shaking in all my glory (easy way to get free drinks all night too...). All in all, ‘twas an unforgivable and extremely fun night out at Squid Roe!

Catch a Beach Club for Sunset Drinks and Dinner

Cabo is pretty synonymous to luxury. Although it is known for its all inclusive resorts and high end accommodation options, you don’t want to stay cooped up in a resort your whole trip. You’ve got to head to a beach club to get your party fix during the day.

Beach clubs like Taboo, Cazaron and Hacienda provide you with high class dining options, beachfront views and overall fun vibes at a way better price than some of the beachfront restaurants. Booking a table for late afternoon means you can also swim if you choose to rent a cabana instead.

If you love trying to get expensive shit for free, you can be like us girls and sneak into Riu Palace by taking the beach entry. Once you’re in, you can just make friends with some rich guests who will get you drinks (it’s all inclusive for them…) and relax by the four different phenomenal pools.

You can’t go to Cabo and not go to a beach club!
