Babe, wake up, the new toe silhouette just dropped.
We've known and loved different kinds of toe silhouettes on shoes for years, whether they’re a pointed toe, square toe, round, tabi, or other, prepare yourself for the latest. There is a new toe silhouette around town - they’re calling it the cat ear. This one is a bit out of the box but if anyone can get the girls to jump on board a trend, it’s designer, Simone Rocha.
In Rocha’s Fall 2023 runway show, a lot of the models were wearing a new, very unique cat ear shoe. This features a small indent in the middle of the toe, with two softly rounded points that resemble, you guessed it, cat ears. We’ve seen this style dotted around the internet for a wee while but Simone Rocha has created a super cute, wearable variation of the out-there versions.
London-based Spanish designer, Paula Canovas Del Vas (@PaulaCanovasDelVas on Instagram) has been the leading lady when it comes to the cat ear toe since she graduated in 2018, creating avant-garde and innovative pieces for my alternative fashionistas. If you want to add some weird and wacky numbers to your wardrobe, I highly recommend delving into Paula’s work.
