The Chatty Chums Mother’s Day Gift Guide ‘21
BY GEORGIA ROSE
She bore you and raised you - all at her expense, albeit her choice, maybe.
24 APR - 2021
Don’t be that sibling at mother’s day brunch. Gather the troops and go all in for a gift mum will actually love.
Buying for your mother can be hard. I have disappointed her countless times, thinking with absolute certainty I bought the right thing, only to find out mum had returned it not long after. She didn’t actually want slippers, she wanted a massage.
By Natalie Amelia V Neck Night Dress, $249
Not only can mum be stylish around the home, but she can wear it to dinner too! Any fashion loving mother will thank you later.
Superdry Boston Microfibre Puffer Jacket, $249.95
Help mum take to the slopes in style this year with a new stylish puffer. We all know après ski is more her thing, but drinking champagne in the snow is hard work too!
Oppo Find X3 Pro, $1,899.
We all know mums are occasionally roped in to get ‘the shot’, so why not equip her with a phone that can actually do the job? With the power of four cameras, mum might even jump on the gram too!
ghd max wide plate styler, $360
A super sleek look can only be topped off with the latest ghd styler - better yet, you can personalise the straightener to include mums name for that extra sentimental touch.
Goop All-In-One Super Nutrient Face Oil, $187
Mum wants good skin too, trust me. This super oil reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, whilst improving overall skin texture for a hydrated glow. Plus, you can steal it every time you visit.
Pure Body Luxe Oil 100ml, $89
Mum’s a clean beauty lover you say? Add a touch of luxe to her routine with a body oil from the Pure Body Luxe range. Maybe it’s HEAL to help with rejuvenation or INSPIRE to compliment her favourite perfume.
Dior Forever Natural Nude Foundation, $109
As the latest foundation to hit counters, Dior has reinvented a natural complexion. Mum will love the fresh, lightweight foundation that is formulated with key skincare ingredients for an extra bonus.
Aesop Nurturer Gift Pack, $111
Specifically curated to express gratitude to mums this mother’s day, the trio of Aesop’s favourites have been packaged up in a perfect travel case. The Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm is one of my favorites.
Jo Malone London Red Hibiscus Cologne Intense, from $150
You can never go wrong with Jo Malone, regardless of the occasion. A favorite from the new range, Red Hibiscus is an Amber floral fragrance with notes of mandarin orange and jasmine sambac.
Smile Makers Vibrator, from $44.95
Maybe not the gift to pull out at the dinner table, but I’m sure you’ll earn the top spot as ‘favourite child’! Pass this off as enhancing ‘me time’ for mum.
Origins Cosmetic Acupuncture Session, from $90
If your mum is anything like mine, she jokingly asked for botox last christmas (Found out after it wasn’t a joke and I had yet again failed on the present front). Cosmetic Acupuncture not only helps prevent signs of premature ageing, but can also be used to skin problems.
Spa Day at the Park Hyatt
We all love a spa day, and we all know it's what mum really wants. Treat her to a massage, facial or full body package. To ensure you get a look in, why not make it a mother-daughter date and finish off with the afternoon tea package?
Huawei Fitness Watch, $159
Mum always on the go? Or maybe her resolution was to get active? Get her into the latest fitness watch so she can track her activity everywhere she goes! And if your mums anything like mine, maybe this will help her finally respond to your phone calls!
HK Citation MKII ONE, $329.95
Help mum to be the life of the party or the ultimate dinner host with the help of Harman Kardon. You may or may not need to set her up with some of your best playlists too.
Naaytu Michelangelo Candle, $80
Mum wants her home to be instagrammable too. Trust me, mine could now open a rattan furniture shop. Naytuu has you covered with locally hand poured candles in all shapes and sizes.
Samsung Vacuum, $995
Yes I know, who would buy their mother a vacuum you ask? Ask Sophie really. Think of it as an early housewarming gift to yourself - you can steal it when you eventually move out!
Maiko Nagao Prints, from $39
Does mum have a few blank walls around home? The reality is she will probably never get round to filling them. Curate a gallery wall to save mum the time, and for extra bonus points, get them installed before she’s home from work.
Samsung Neo QLED TV, from $5,500
Personally I don’t know anyone who would buy their mother a TV, but Sophie recently treated herself to one and thinks we all need to up our game. At a cool 5.5k, you can give your mum the gift of picture perfect Netflixing.
