It’s time to appreciate the art of dressing in bed.

For someone who loves clothes, and spends hours planning outfits and online shopping, it’s an absolute mystery that I’ve never been a sleepwear gal.

Ever since I can remember - well, after my mum stopped being the one to purchase my pj's - I’ve always forgone the traditional sets and worn old t-shirts and comfy shorts to bed.

After a long day of dealing with your colleagues, there’s nothing better than slipping on something chic and luxurious to complete your bedtime routine in. I’m channeling what I think Jenna Rink, in 13 going on 30, would be waking up in if she lived in 2022.

Whether you’re a lover of a good silk pair or a classic cotton, these brands are the who’s who of the sleep world.

Bed Threads

The Aussie brand nailed linen bedding, so they’ve translated that into a range of linen sleepwear. Long-sleeve shirts, matching pants, short sets and in a range of beautiful muted tones.

Papinelle

When a brand reigns from Paddington, you know it will tick all the luxury boxes. While I love their pjs, a super plush robe is like a big cuddle when you get out of bed in the morning, especially on brisk spring mornings!

Daily Sleeper

Start out at a party and end up in bed. Sleeper are the pajamas you’ll want to wear out more than in. Remove the feathers accessory and you’re ready to hit snooze.

I’m all for extra, but the brand also stocks ruffled sets and more, so get browsing!

Tekla

For those wanting something a little less satin, but no less chic. The organic cotton is ideal for lounging around the house on a Sunday morning. Throw on a pair of jeans with their Sleep Shirt and you’re ready for the markets.

Honna

Summer sets, get ready. It’s giving Hamptons sleepover vibes, but could easily be worn buttoned open over swimwear for a relaxed pool-side look. Honna are also a NET SUSTAIN brand, made with conscious materials.

Suku Home

Who doesn’t want to have a little fun in bed? These hand-dyed bamboo pjs are sure to make you stand out amongst the T-shirt wearers. Bonus: they are unisex, so you can match with your partner.

For the Restless Sleeper

If a housewife was hosting a pajama party in Remuera, this is what she would wear. Bold prints, made in Italy, with the price to match. I couldn’t leave it off this list!

By Natalie

Get into bed with someone local. By Natalie was created to be the calm in your day. Coming into the spring/summer season, their lightweight Tencel fabric will be your best friend. By Natalie is probably the most wearable sleepwear I own. It can so easily be worn out of the house on date night.
