American luxury fashion house, Coach, has launched a new line of vintage inspired handbags made from exclusively upcycled leather. The off cuts and scraps of leather that would normally go to waste after initially being used for Coach bags are now used to create Coachtopia, along with recycled resin that’s been moulded into loops to form a chain for each handle on the bags. Sustainability has always been a sexy business move, and we are obsessed with this one.
Another thing that makes Coachtopia so special is that Coach has collaborated with gen Z designers to make sure they’re creating want-worthy pieces. These designers have blessed us with some gorgeous patch-work pieces and patterns like cherries, strawberries, mushrooms, and some very pretty floral prints too.
Plus, if you scan the hang tag on your Coachtopia bag with your phone you can find out exactly where the materials came from and what they were used for before they became your beloved Coachtopia! How cool!
Many were worried that Coachtopia wouldn’t make it down under to either Australia or New Zealand as the Coach US website doesn’t ship here, but never fear, Coachtopia bags are available at Selfridges stores which ship worldwide. Although shipping across the pacific might be a hassle, it’ll all be worth it when the cutest little pouch bag shows up at your front door.
