My spare time these days is often spent in the void of TikTok.
My feed mostly consists of fashion and beauty content, but more recently, interior decor and design content has started to seep through.
What used to be tabs full of fashion websites is now a series of virtual shopping carts full of homewares, so much so, that I can’t even keep count. And before I know it, I proceed to check out to realise, ‘shit, I actually don’t have enough money to purchase a third set of specially shaped champagne coupes for $120.’
I was recently asked why I’m spending so much on interiors if I can’t even afford a house to put them all in. I took that to heart and sipped from said Fazeek champagne coupes without a care in the world.
If you’d like to be broke, yet stylish, here’s the low-down on the homewares that live rent free in my mind.
MarloeMarloe Ellery Vase, $669
You can never have too many vases. The Marloe Marloe range has been on my wishlist for a while now. Not only are they a chic home for your flowers, but it doubles as a piece of art too.
Lumria Glass Candle Holder, $120
If you’re like me, you’ll have a ridiculous amount of brand new candles around the house that are too precious to light. The only issue is the continuous dusting process. I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these domes!
Rachel Donath Wave Chair, $960
I’d purchase two and have them at each end of a long dining table. There’s something about a mismatched chair selection that I love. These wave chairs will definitely become a talking point!
Assouline Acrylic Book Stand, $189
So many coffee table books, yet so little time to read them. Perfect solution? Display the pages! The Assoulie acrylic book stand comes in red, black and clear to suit all colour schemes.
Sarah Ellison Muse Couch, from $3,390
Pols Potten Candle Holder, $190
I’m envisioning this in the middle of a stylish dinner party, surrounded by plates from In the Round House and small bunches of flowers. This is such a statement piece for the dining table.
Special Studio Lulu Stool, $300
You’ve probably seen this brand pop up on your feed recently! They’re a kiwi brand out of Mount Maunganui and all their products are 3D printed - how cool. I’m eyeing up their Lulu Stool as my next purchase.
Hubsch Table Lamp, $299
Hotel Magnique Art Print, $179
I am loving all of the Hotel Magnique prints at Father Rabbit. You could easily create a chic gallery wall by mixing and matching the colours!
Amici Studios Puddle Mirror, $229
This is the most affordable pond style mirror I’ve found yet! It hangs on the wall with command strips so it’s the easiest to move around the house if you want to change up the styling. No holes or hammers needed.
