It’s a dark week when petrol starts eating into my shopping budget.

Looking at the price of gas right now, it’s unlikely that I’ll be able to drop $800 on a sparkly handbag for the foreseeable future. Without needing to sell the can you can sport some of the latest trends while sticking to the budget.

Welcome to the new series, Look for Less, all about snagging a bargain on the popular items you're seeing all over IG. My style is definitely more monochrome and minimalistic (with a hint of sparkle and feathers) so if you can relate, here are some of my favourite looks for less right now.

Sir Lace Slip Dress

I’ve seen every Aussie influencer in each colourway of the SIR lace slip dress. Thankfully, Meshki have come to the rescue with their version. If you’re not so into the cut out, they also have one without!

Valentino Platform Heels

Everyone on the fashion week circuit is loving platform heels sick right now, especially the Valentino and Versace ones! Swap the budget-breaking price for the Tony Bianco Jaguar Heels for a similar look.

Sleeper Feather PJs

Not going to lie, I spent $400 on a pair of Sleeper Pjs. While I have no regrets, I could have simply saved my credit card from the heart attack. In comes ASOS! Their feathers are also detachable, and come in a few colour-ways.

Dior-esque

This saddle bag is giving me all the Dior vibes. I love that it’s also a classic timeless look - so definitely a bag you’ll wear for seasons to come! It’s also available in 11 different colourways!

New Bottega

If I was to buy all the Bottega heels I loved, I’d be broke. These heels were specifically ones I’d been waiting to filter down to the highstreet market, so thank you Dazie! I fell in love with the chocolate and lemon colour so got both for a Carrie Bradshaw mismatched shoe moment.

Sparkles are in!

I’m attracted to all things sequined and sparkly, so the sell-out Cult Gaia Hera back obviously caught my eye. But, I wasn’t about to drop $800 on a flimsy looking bag! Get the look with this affordable version on Aliexpress

Feather Top

Another look fashion influencers have been loving is the full feather top! With some setting you back more than $600 a pop, I was glad to find this Peppermayo version. It doesn’t look thin and cheap which is a huge win when looking for more affordable items!

Hailey Bieber in Saint Laurent

Yes, we’re talking about that cut out Yves Saint Laurent dress pictured at the top of the page! Now, I don’t know about you, but I don’t have an easy 4k to drop on a red carpet look, and even if I did, where would I be wearing the damn thing? If you want to channel Hailey, Maison Femalien has us covered for under $400, with both a maxi and a mini version!

Celine Edge

I don’t think we’ll ever forget the craze that was the Celine edge sunglasses. Although they might be a trendy item, the sharp cat-eye is definitely a classic look. I’m terrible with sunglasses, alway losing or scratching them, so as long as the sunnies are UV rated, I usually opt for the dupes!

Riding Boots

I’m a little out of practice when it comes to wearing heels so I’m happy to see the riding boot trend is making a return this winter. This one isn't a specific brand dupe as lots of brands have done their own version, but more of just a good steal!
