Fittingly, they have housed their first perfume in a big boutrious bottle
Nothing is more immediately associated with fragrance than spring. Even if you don't reach for seasonality inspired scents, nature gives plenty of olfactory inspiration. Be it in the endless flourish of flowers, fresh fruits, or simply the urge to spend more time outside. I’m calling for you to put down the rich, heavy, and spicy winter fragrances and start wearing something lighter, fresher, and floral. Moncler has bottled the feeling of outdoor spirit combined with the brand's natural drive for innovation, just in time for the change in season.
Moncler Pour Femme is inspired by crispy, bright powdery snow. The scent is lifted by Italian bergamot which moves into white florals of jasmine sambac and heliotrope, and finishes in a lightly woody bed of amber, cedarwood and sandalwood, with natural vanilla to round out the expression of feminine allure.
Moncler Pour Femme
Despite its allusion to powdery snow, this scent screams spring. It’s feminine, sexy, seductive, and sweet, but not sickly sweet. I chose this one to review from the Chatty Chums office shelf due to its demanding bottle literally winking at me, but I will get to my packaging thoughts soon. The fragrance is complex but balanced. The complex scent starts soft, like that of fresh powder, but moments later, the perfume brings out the warmth of amber and vanilla. And from there it just gets better and better. The woody notes float slightly in the background, it's recognisable but the sweetness counteracts much of it’s woody-ness, keeping it fresh.
Due to it being quite light, a few spritzes around the body is needed for a lasting aroma. That may just be the way it wears on my skin. Considering that it is an EDP and not an EDT, the price point is pretty good. It is lasting but not projecting nor intense. The 150ml bottle with the LED Screen is $324, it’s refill is $234 which is fairly reasonable. Although, I have seen it go for much higher than the RRP in certain online stores.
A nod to the brand's Alpine roots and quilted designs, the bottles for the Moncler Pour Femme and Moncler Pour Homme scents are shaped like a "borraccia" flask and encased in a ribbed silver casing and cap. The 150ml bottles also feature rechargeable LED screens that can be customised via a bluetooth-powered smartphone app and contrasting Moncler logo-shaped push button. While the LED panel is something that I have never seen before, I don't find it much of a selling point. Although, at the last house party, I popped the DJ’s name onto the bottle and perched it on a top shelf above his head. The battery life is only 8 hours so I wouldn’t leave my to the flatmates running all day. But “WEALTHY BITCH” and “YOU LOOK HOT” on cycle as I do my makeup is a bit of a vibe for sure.
