Cool morning air, dew beading on petals, nature slowly awakens with the sunrise. Blossoming flowers unveiling their precious nectar, this is Premiere Fleur.

Issey Miyake continues to dedicate their fragrances to moments of nature. In this interaction, the movement of nyctinasty is bottled into a radiant olfactory expression.
Simply put, I have a sweet tooth. My love of sweet and fruity seems to cross over into my love fragrances.
Almost all of my favourite fragrances have some sort of sweet note to them so it’s no surprise that I love the Issey Miyake Nectar d’Issey Première Fleur. If your perfume shelf includes the likes of FlowerBomb by Viktor Rolf or Narciso Rodriguez For Her, then Première Fleur will be a great addition.
The Fragrance
Inspired by flowers when the morning sun rises, Nectar d’Issey Première Fleur is a fruity fragrance with fresh floral notes, embedded in a soft and creamy woody cocoon. The first spritz will bring a strong hit of sweetness that may be overpowering for some, but over time, you will notice it dries down into a soft scent that lingers in a sweet embrace.
A fresh burst of nashi pear, aqueous fruits opens into a floral bouquet of jasmine and peony. As the fragrance dries down, base notes of sandalwood, vanilla and white musk balance the fragrance, creating a lasting impression.
Review
Perfume is so much more than just the scent. To me, it admittedly comes down to the design, that ‘love at first sight’ moment in the department store.
Première Fleur is housed in an oblong bottle created by Todd Bracher, clad in nude tones and a delicately drawn flower to reflect the scent from within. The bottle sits perfectly on any shelf, and is sleek enough to pop into your tote.
The third opus in the Nectar’s d’Issey fragrance saga, Permière Fleur pursues the same luminous and happy quality. Light, fruity and floral, it’s a feminine fragrance that suits crisp mornings in the spring and autumn. Encapsulating the movement of how flowers close and open throughout the day, the sweetness creates a joyful mood to set the day and by the late afternoon, has a sensual quality.
Awakening with a positive energy, Première Fleur becomes mysterious and has a sexy, almost carnal quality to which it is quite unexpected. I love how the fragrance transforms in an instinctive way to suit the mood of the day from sunrise to sundown.
