Does ‘Beautiful Skin’ live up to its name?

Since launching in Mecca stores in September last year it's fair to say Charlotte Tilbury has captured (... and eagerly engaged) a new audience of existing and new makeup lovers across the country. Her range truly has something for everyone from the ‘No-Makeup’ makeup crew (me, read: lazy) to the most skilled and extravagant of makeup artists.

Over the last 6 months, I have come to love all things Charlotte Tilbury. My first purchase was Flawless Filter - I’m on my second bottle, and at this rate, I have probably forced about 50 people to buy it. Quite frankly, I’m hooked. It’s my favorite skin base by a longshot.

It’s fair to say that when I heard about the new ‘Beautiful Skin Foundation,’ I was instantly sold. By the name alone - beautiful skin - *raises hand* yes, please.

Trial & Testing

Opening the box to find a tube with a pump was the first win. I’ve lost a few too many glass foundation bottles due to being accident-prone. Plus it’s lighter, won’t spill, and it’s better to travel with (hello to the border opening!).

Designed to smooth and illuminate, this foundation truly leaves your skin feeling hydrated, supple and looking lit from within. We’re looking for glowy, not shiny.

Starting with a healthy dose of Flawless Filter, I then buffed a few pumps of the Beautiful Skin Foundation into my skin. The product applies smoothly and since I opted for a natural day look, I used a damp beauty blender to even out the coverage.

I then popped a little concealer under my eyes, a wash of a cream blush and bronzer, and set it with the Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder; another Charlotte Tilbury favourite; it’s very finely milled and just gives your skin the most beautiful blur for that truly ‘airbrushed’ look. A brush of the brows and you are good to go!

The foundation sat well all day. It doesn't crease or cake up which I’ve put down to the addition of hyaluronic acid, a very welcomed ingredient! HA is a humectant, meaning it helps to retain the skin's moisture.

One key thing to note is it’s easily buildable for those wanting a bit more, I will definitely be road testing it on a night out once this Omicron wave takes a backseat!

All in all, Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation lives up to the hype, and like my other favorite Charlotte Tilbury complexion products, this foundation has the ability to have your skin looking like skin - just better.
So Charlotte, thank you.
