Beguiling and addictive, Eidesis is the newest addition to Aesop’s fragrance wardrobe.
Ovid’s book of Metamorphosis tells the story of Narcissus who fell in love with his own reflection. Unable to accept the affection of any other, he chooses to die by the side of his own reflection that could not return his love. It was this story that inspired Eidesis by Aseop. Despite the watery imagery, the notes are dry. Sandalwood, frankincense and black pepper forms the heart of this parabolic fragrance.
Eidesis also refers to the repetition of words or phrases in order to evoke a particular image or idea. Perhaps Aesop has named their newest fragrance Eidesis as an ode to the everyday scent. Strong enough to create a presence, this fragrance is still delicate enough for daily wear.

The top notes are black pepper, olibanum and petitgrain. They are the brightest composition within this fragrance. Olibanum and petit grain is uniquely positioned to provide a subtle sparkle of citrus that is grounded in a warm spice. Atypical from the usual bergamot opening of the modern fragrance, Eidesis welcomes the wearer with a distinct attraction. Combined with black pepper, this fragrance intrigues those who dare to explore the reflection within Eidesis.
At the heart, Olibanum makes a second appearance and further reinforces the warm spiciness of this fresh and earthy note. Additionally, cedarwood and cumin provide a creaminess that replicates the damp earth. The spicy undertones of Eidesis can also be explained by the gentle frankincense that gives this fragrance a mesmeric quality.

Slightly sweet from the spicy notes of frankincense and olibanum, it strikes the perfect balance between the masculine and the feminine.
