This is not a drill!
Whenever someone wears MFK's Baccarat Rouge 540, I always find a way to bring it up in the conversation because it's a great way to appreciate the fragrance and compliment the wearer. However, when I recently brought it up to somebody I met at a party, she gave me a mischievous look and let me in on a secret: a half-price dupe for the Baccarat Rouge 540 EDP.
Yes, I know, I know. Is it even possible to replicate the rich and luxurious undertones of this fragrance masterpiece? Well, hop on over to your nearest Sephora to see for yourself! Today, we are talking about Nomad EDP by Who Is Elijah.
As a bonus, we also included a beautiful dupe for the body butter for the ultimate fragrance duo that will turn heads wherever you go. Trust me. You're going to want to put it on your shopping list.
What Makes Baccarat Rouge so Desirable?
Within the realm of luxury fragrances, one particular scent stands out: Baccarat Rouge 540 by Maison Francis Kurkdjian Paris. This exquisite fragrance was crafted in honour of Baccarat's 250th anniversary, aiming to capture the opulence and allure of the renowned ruby crystals adorning the prestigious crystal house of France.
Drawing inspiration from the grandeur of Baccarat, this fragrance presents an elegant ambience, achieved through the harmonious blend of Egyptian jasmine, saffron, ambergris, and cedarwood. Although the notes may appear relatively simple, the true magic lies in the intricate composition of these carefully selected notes.
Nowadays, Baccarat Rouge 540 has garnered an immense following in the perfume world, and for good reason. It possesses a captivating allure that effortlessly blends sensuality and subtlety, creating an enchanting experience for the wearer and those around them. Its romantic nature evokes a sense of intimacy, making it a cherished fragrance for special occasions and moments of indulgence.
Nomad by Who is Elijah
The Nomad Perfume by Who Is Elijah is one of the best-kept secrets I have discovered this year. You would not believe how similar they smell unless you go and experience it yourself!
As far as the notes go, the heart consists of cardamom, patchouli and, most importantly, saffron. As the fragrance unfolds, it reveals a floral composition of jasmine, rose and whispers of ylang-ylang.
At the base, a warm and cocooning blend of vanilla, incense and sandalwood leaves a captivating and addicting aroma that will follow you home after a big night.
As you have likely noticed, Nomad uses jasmine and saffron, giving it a flair similar to Baccarat Rouge 540. To capture the dry sharpness of cedarwood, Nomad combines the floral woodiness of patchouli and sandalwood. Although you may be doubtful, remember that fragrance is like a game of puzzles. These pieces come together to create all kinds of shapes and pictures.
Nomad is a wonderful and affordable option for people who don't necessarily want to drop $500 on a bottle of perfume. However, for those loyal to Baccarat Rouge 540, you can always save the real thing for special events and use Nomad for everyday purposes. This way, you can save a little money without getting anxious when your little red and gold bottle starts to run low.
Sol De Janeiro Beija Flor Elasti-Cream
If you didn't know, Sol de Janeiro creates unique body products for different skin concerns. The Beija Flor Elasti-Cream is a moisture-rich, skin-plumping, softening body butter that is irresistibly light in texture and smells divine.
Cacay oil is used to accelerate cell renewal and moisturises the skin with ample hydration. Furthermore, plant-based collagen brings bounce back into the skin while plant squalane locks in the moisture.
Scent-wise, this body butter is packed with the Cheirosa 68 fragrance that utilises Brazilian jasmine, ocean air and sun musk. Oddly enough, while the Cheirosa 68 Body Mist doesn't smell like the Baccarat 540 EDP, the Beija Flor Elasti-cream is a near match to the Baccarat 540 Body Cream.
Just like its Maison Francis Kurkdjian Paris counterpart, the Beija Flora Elasti-cream is elegant and gentle on the nose. It is a dreamy concoction of floral and musk. You have to try it! In fact, I think it’s the better option due to its elevated formula and extra benefits to the skin.
Sol De Janeiro, Beija Flor Elasti-Cream, 240ml, $82 NZD.
All I have left to say is you're very welcome! Now you know your next perfume, and it won't break the bank.
