Eight creamy body butters you'll want to slather on your dry skin this winter.
Since I started writing at Chatty, I was immediately welcomed to the world of self-care skincare. Sophie, our editor, wanted to know about any troubles or conditions I have with my skin, to which I told her about my severely dry and eczema-ridden body. She made it a personal mission to get my hydration on track (how special). Of the many products, she loaded me up with body lotions, and body butters were essential. While I can be taking my omega 3s, drinking tonnes of water and lathering up on the serums, to lock everything in place requires a decent body butter - hence this edit.
We all know that taking care of our skin is essential, but finding the right body butter can be a real pain in the ass. Lucky for you, I’ve done the research and tested out some of the hottest body butters on the market. With winter on her way, you should stock up on rich, buttery creams to keep your skin supple, hydrated, and soft. Here are seven different body butters that will come in handy this winter.
Okana Avocado Smash Body Butter
First up, we’ve got the Okana Avocado Smash Body Butter. And let me tell you, this shit is the real deal. Not only does it smell like heaven, but it’s also packed with avocado oil, shea butter, and coconut oil to leave your skin feeling hydrated and silky smooth. Plus, it’s all-natural, so you don’t have to worry about any funky chemicals seeping into your pores. Trust me. Your skin will thank you for slathering this stuff on.
Sans[ceuticals] Barrier Restore Body + Hand Butter
Next on the list is the Sans[ceuticals] Barrier Restore Body + Hand Butter. This stuff is perfect for those of you who suffer from dry, cracked skin (like me). Its ultra-hydrating formula is made with shea butter, avocado oil, and jojoba oil to lock in moisture and repair damaged skin. And the best part? It’s safe for all skin types, so even those of you with sensitive skin can enjoy its benefits. Say goodbye to flaky skin and hello to silky smoothness.
Le Labo Body Cream
Moving on to the boujee-er side of things, we’ve got the Le Labo Body Cream. This luxurious cream is made with a blend of shea butter, avocado oil, and coconut oil to nourish and moisturise your skin. But what really sets it apart is its unique scent, which is a blend of bergamot, lavender, and tonka bean. It’s like a spa day in a jar. And let’s be real, who doesn’t love feeling fancy as hell?
Tronque Firming Butter
If you’re looking for a body butter that will also help firm and tighten your skin, then the Tronque Firming Butter is the way to go. This butter is made with caffeine, which is known to stimulate circulation and reduce the appearance of cellulite. It also contains shea butter and coconut oil to keep your skin hydrated and supple. So not only will you smell good, but you’ll also look good. What more could you want?

Ouai Body Creme Melrose Place
Now, if you’re like me and you’re a sucker for cute packaging, then you’re going to love the Ouai Body Creme Melrose Place. This cream comes in a sleek, minimalist jar and smells like a dream. It’s made with shea butter, coconut oil, and squalane to leave your skin feeling soft and smooth. Plus, it’s paraben-free, sulphate-free, and cruelty-free, so you can feel good about using it. And let’s be real, anything that looks good on your bathroom shelf is worth investing in.
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream
Last but certainly not least, we’ve got the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. “Isn’t this the cream that’s all over TikTok?” Yes, yes, it is. But let me tell you. It’s popular for a reason. This cream is made with a blend of cupuaçu butter, açaí oil, and coconut oil to hydrate and firm your skin. And it smells like a tropical paradise. I wouldn't recommend this if you have very sensitive skin as the fragrance is quite strong, but if you’re good with most creams then you’ll definitely be good using this one.
Aesop Geranium Leaf Body Balm
Honourable mention goes to the Aesop Geranium Leaf Body Balm. This balm is perfect for those of you who prefer a lighter, more subtle scent. It’s made with shea butter, macadamia seed oil, and geranium leaf extract to moisturise and soothe all your dry bits.
Kopari Ultra Restore Body Butter
This little gem is a true game-changer for those of us who struggle with dry and irritated skin. Packed with nourishing ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil, and aloe vera, it deeply hydrates and soothes even the most parched skin. The lightweight yet creamy texture absorbs quickly, leaving behind a delicate coconut scent.
Body butters are a luxurious and nourishing addition to any skincare routine. They provide intense hydration and moisturization to combat dry skin and leave you feeling soft and silky smooth. With so many different types of body butters available, you can choose one that fits your specific needs and preferences.
As we head into the winter months, body butters become even more important as the cold weather and dry indoor heating can wreak havoc on our skin. Using body butter daily can help to keep your skin hydrated and healthy throughout the winter season. So go ahead and indulge in one of these amazing body butters, your skin will thank you!
