ABH's Latest Cream Stick Blush Is The Best I've Tried

Creamy goodness by the blush experts

My skin is dull and lifeless, despite the hundreds I spent on illuminating products, I still yearn for my rosy complexion from summer.
If there’s one make-up product that can inject life into your skin in seconds, it’s blush, but this article is an ode to cream blush and, more specifically, the recent magical product by ABH.
No matter what time of the year, you can count on cream blushes to give you a dewy, glowing complexion. Buttery, creamy products are super hydrating and often won't irritate the skin texture - perfect for my girls with dry skin.
ABH released a series of cream products for the summer. In this release, they launched five cream blushes and five cream bronzers that all embody the sun-kissed and radiant beauty we need, all year round.
After their viral selling-out Blush Trio palette, which has over 3000 highly endorsed reviews on Sephora, the pressure was on ABH to produce a creme blush that could live up to the hype of their cult favourite powders.
Anastasia Beverly Hills - Stick Blush
In this collection, ABH began with five shades; they have just recently released two more, so I’ve been trialling their newest shade, Nectarine. At first glance, the bright peachy tone bordering orange threw me. However, from the moment it hit my skin, the pigment fused and became a stunning soft peachy shade.
The cream blush is beautiful; the product melts into the skin to create a radiant and natural-looking colour with a seamless finish. The stick glides onto the skin without struggle, creating a last-lasting blurring effect that fuses into the skin for a fresh and glowy look.
Using the Built-in Brush
Quite a few users have complained about this blush being far too dense and the tightly packed synthetic bristles being too firm. The trick I found with this is to take a bit more time and blend carefully into the cheek and surrounding products. You can also remove the brush when you need to wash it, so you don’t have to put water all over the product. I love this feature. The built-in brush will be great when travelling or even in the handbag when I need a flush of life.
My usual Glossier Cloud Paint is nowhere near as pigmented as this, I end up needing a ton of product just for it to show up the way I want it to. Not this.
The stick is literal pigment butter that gives an effortless minimal look.
With careful application (being patient with the brush), the product holds its place and doesn't move. I know it's cold out there at the moment, which helps with my makeup lasting a full day, but this lasted the whole day without the need to touch up or reapply.
Application with Sponge / Fingers
Considering how much I depend on my beauty blender, of course, I was going to give it a go for this cream blush application. I started by lightly patting the sponge onto the product and stippling it out onto my cheeks. I found that the product was absorbed. Applying the product directly to my cheek and blending it out was far more effective.
I love this stick blush a lot. The colour applies smoothly and doesn’t slide off. With two swipes on the cheek and blending with my finger, the product really comes to life, though a little messy. It packs impressive staying power. With this method, a little product can go a long way, which is great for the shy 8 grams the tube contains. The product feels really hydrating on my skin; it's not too oily as most creams can be.
If you’re prone to oily skin, I suggest tapping a setting power on top. The nectarine colour looks great on pale skin. It can be quite pigmented when applied directly but it is super simple to blend out. For darker skin, the rosey and pinker shades may be a better option.

Final Verdict
As someone who has always been a fan of glow, my make-up routine has mainly consisted of products that make my skin appear richer than it is. This blush stick is the perfect new ingredient. I can now work it into my daily practice. The formula quickly melts into my skin and creates a healthy, dewy finish, exactly what I’m looking for. Going for a creamy product over a powder means that the product is fusing with the skin rather than sitting on top of it.
It also has all the ‘free’s I’m also looking for in a product; it’s paraben, phthalate, oil, fragrance and cruelty -free. So she's a real star. I highly recommend giving it a go!
The cream stick can be worn sheer or built up to full opacity. I personally find this blush more luminous than frosty. It doesn't highlight my pores (always a win). Anastasia Beverly Hills just gives so much life to my face. I can wear just some mascara, clear brow gel, lipstick and this blush and feel like million bucks.
