When we think about the winter aesthetic, the resident makeup look is the vampy lip and contour. She won't be going anywhere, but it's not everyone's cup of tea. There are several renditions of this classic look, and it will be the first I will address today.

The lip-focused makeup look is ideal because if you're anything like me, you value your sleep - especially when it's icy cold in the morning. Minimal eye makeup and a simple base paired with a bold lip creates a powerful statement with little effort required. Today, lipstick is fighting a constant battle with masks and that’s okay as vampy lips pair perfectly well with a smokey eye or dramatic wing liner too!

It is important to consider your undertone as there are so many vampy lip colours. If you are warm-toned, try something that leans on the red side. On the other hand, cooler-toned guys and gals should try colours that have blue or violet undertones. And if you're neutral-toned, well, consider yourself blessed with the best of both worlds. Keep in mind, these are only guidelines at the end of the day, so I highly encourage you all to experiment with the color wheel to find the best fit for you!

My favourite universal cool girl, vampy lip, has to be M.A.C Rebel. Like the name suggests, it isn't your typical "every day” MLBB (my lips but better). Instead, it radiates confidence and boldness. I love recommending this to people as most of us will probably already own a deep red or purple. M.A.C. Rebel is a mid-toned purple with a unique pink undertone. I guarantee you won't already have anything like it.
